Notes: Label source: Memorandum dated 9.1.11. Subject specimen of wood sent by Roberts, Evans and Woodhead African Chambers, Old Hall St, Liverpool. Letter 669.1910 This is probably a species of Sickingia a genus of Rubiaceae including species native in Brazil,, Venezuela etc. The bark of the specimen is nearly identical in structure with that of S.rubra, K.Schum. A wood described by Wiesner under the name of 'rosa paraguata' agrees with the specimen in several characters, and is stated to come from S.America,, probably Venezuela. This may perhaps also be a species of Sickingia. Signed LAB 6.1.11
