Notes: Label source: Widely diffused tree, the wood of which is said to closely resemble English holly, being white in colour and hard with a fine grain, so that it is used for a great number of purposes by turners, engineers, cabinet-makers and philosophical i, nstrument makers. For engraving purposes, it is not equal to the dogwood of America (Cornus florida), it yields, however, more readily to the graver`s tools.
