On Feb 21st last, I received 16lbs pod of A montana from USA (10lbs ped = 5lbs se, ed =654 seeds).a. Seeds planted 21.2.32, b. Seeds commenced to germinate 10.4.32. c. Seeds germinated and strong plants with up to 8 leaves as at date 445. = 68% germination. As I believe A montana is not a success in other parts of the Empire I am enc, losing in an envelope a few of the seeds. I shall be grateful if you can identify them. For further comparison 4 other packs are included: A montana from USA, and from Univ of Nanking, planted on 14th March last - 20lbs pod - 1100 seeds, the seedlings ha, ve just started to appear. A fordii from the Univ of Nanking, 10lbs pod = 1148 seeds = 5 1/4 lbs seed. Planted March 13 last, germinated to date 534 = 46%. A fordii from Forest Dept., Nairobi (From USA) Planted 13 March 8lbs pod = 653 seeds = 4 1/2lbs, to date 120 seedlings = 28% germination. A fordii from USA Planted March 29th, 5 1/2 lbs pod = 375 seeds = 2lbs 15oz seedlings to date 172 = 50%. Very strong plants. (A freak.
