Notes: In 1876 Wickham sent 70,000 rubber seeds from Brazil to Kew. Less than 2,500 germinated but those seedlings were sent to Sri Lanka and Malaysia, formaing the basis of the Far Eastern rubber industry (Plants+People catalogue).x0Dx0Ax0Dx0APlants + People exhibition, Museum No 1, Kew. May 1998 to May 2016. The seeds are in two parts. A couple were bottled for the PLants + People exhibition and subsequently went ito the herbarium Spirit collection. Two have remained bottled and in B1.
