| Notes: | Label source: On the outskirts of the village of Santiago Acatepec which lies on the main road running south west from Tehuacan to Huajuapan de Leon about 50km from Tehuacan, in rolling mountainous country. Medium-sized tree to 17m ht., with heavy branc, hing and a spreading crown, dbh 50cm. Bark grey brown with lighter brown lenticels, shallow vertical fissures and a few knobbly protuberances, inner bark cream streaked pink. Flowers weakly scented; flower heads on angular ridged shoots, other shoots n, ot ridged, calyx and corolla green, stamen filaments white, anthers pale yellow, style white, flower heads in large erect terminal racemes. Foliage reminiscent of Leucaena leucocephala with round discoid petiolar gland. Very low pod set, a few unripe po, ds, tinged reddish and glossy. A single tree in village with cultivated Leucaena esculenta nearby, Schinus molle and Prosopis laevigata on a river bank. Hybrid?? | ||||
