Notes: Label source: A decoction of the root is taken in cases of liver complaints, & c. Also roasted and ground, and the powder rubbed into incisions where pain is felt. The Cape Aloes are procured from several species of this extensive genus, so peculiar to S, outh Africa. The Aloe ferox Lam., a native of Swellendam, is generally acknowledged to yield the best extract.
