This is a very inferior specimen, owing (as the native dresser ? informed me) to the flax of this species which grows about us here near the sea being remarkably destitute of parenchyma, so that it cannot be dressed well. Consesqently, they never use the 'Warariki' which grows near the sea: that which grows inland is not so. WC. | ||||
