Notes: Label source: Sacking made by J.B. Storey Manchester. With the fibre of Phormium tenax grown and stripped on the Parana-Uruguay Delta. Argentina. Black & white photograph showing flax growing. Mr Dallimore, Herewith a specimen of sacking material made fr, om Phormium tenax fibre grown in the Argentine by A Espantosa who told me that he had an estate of 10,000 acres of this plant. Leaves of 10 to 12 feet long were common. See enclosed photo with the man standing in amongst the plants. His market is a local, one as there is a great demand for strong string for binding corn sheafs. CPR 30/11/1927. Ref. No. 54/1927.
