Notes: Label source: Ceylon Ceylon or East Indian ebony is one of the hardest & heaviest of woods: difficult to work, with severe blunting effects on tools: used in turnery for fancy articles and in inlay work also for parts of musical instruments such as finge, r boards, saddles, pegs, buttons, tail pieces etc. Wt 74 lb/cu.ft. Large tree native of Ceylon and south India. The heartwood forms the Ebony of commerce.
