Notes: Label source: From HMS The Thunderer. A Trafalgar ship broken up about 1906. Letter 9, 1916 X.p.16 Mr King ' acknowledge the receipt of his letter of the 4th inst and in reply to say that the specimen of wood submitted for identification appears to be th, at known as 'Terblanz' (Faurea saligna) a South African Timber belonging to the natural order Proteaceae. Some particulars of this wood are given in Kew Bulletin, Jan-March 1901 p.83 (Obtainable of Messrs Wyman & Sons Ltd.Fetter lane, London. Wood receiv, ed for name 6.1.1916. Stated to be from one of Nelsons old Trafalgar ships, The Thunderer unamed 'The Nettle' sold out of Portsmouth Dockyard about 10 years ago and broken up to the River Medina near Cowes.
